amboise xvème siècle
A Renaissance-inspired globe. Based on 16th-century cartography, this exceptional model meticulously recreates the geographical knowledge of the Age of Discovery.
Its solid brass frame and oak base, engraved with a zodiac calendar, make it a piece as elegant as it is erudite.
This globe was commissioned for the prestigious Château d'Amboise, where it graced the bedchamber of Francis I. This piece inspired the creation of two color palettes: royal blue—the most expensive and sought-after color among artists and the aristocracy of the time—and a green-beige inspired by the patina of antique globes.
Comes with its stand and certificate of authenticity.
