The work on plexiglass offers a radically different, more immersive and luminous approach.
Plexiglas allows for the manipulation of transparency, depth, and light. Unlike paper, which absorbs light, here the material allows it to pass through, reflecting and transforming it.
Clément Lesaffre develops an almost aquatic language: the forms seem to float, appear, and disappear depending on the viewpoint. The direct influence of his freediving is evident—this sensation of being suspended between two worlds, between surface and depth.
The work then becomes alive, dynamic. It engages the viewer physically: by moving around, they alter their perception.
It is an immersive experience that echoes the cycles of life, respiration, and underwater light.
The technique employed is always DEPAINTING
